Impressive campaign in Nigeria keeps Ghana’s Los Angeles 2028 Olympic qualification hopes alive.
Accra, Ghana – The Ghana Beach Volleyball Team has earned a commendable silver medal at the CAVB Zone III Beach Volleyball Championship held in Badagry, Nigeria, securing qualification for the CAVB Africa Beach Volleyball Nations Cup in Morocco.
The continental championship serves as a key qualification event on the road to the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games, making Ghana’s qualification another significant milestone in the country’s growing beach volleyball journey.
Representing Ghana with determination, discipline, and resilience, the team delivered outstanding performances throughout the championship, overcoming tough opposition to reach the final and finish as runners-up among the best teams in the West African zone.
While the ultimate prize narrowly slipped away, the campaign was widely regarded as another positive step in the continued growth of Ghana Beach Volleyball.
“We are immensely proud of our athletes, coaches, referees, and the entire delegation. This competition has shown how far we have come as a nation. We have grown in confidence, gained invaluable experience, and identified important lessons that will shape our future.”
The Federation noted that the silver medal should not be viewed as the final destination but rather as another building block toward achieving greater success on the continental and global stage.
