Ghana’s Rising Stars Qualify for Youth Olympics and World Championships in Beach Volleyball

Ghana’s teenage beach volleyball duo, Justice Amoafo and Daniel Tettey, have achieved a historic milestone by securing qualification for two prestigious international tournaments: the 2026 U18 Youth Olympic Games in Dakar, Senegal, and the 2025 U18 World Championship in Doha, Qatar.

The pair clinched their spot at the Youth Olympic Games after a standout performance at the African Volleyball Confederation (CAVB) U18 Beach Youth Development Cup, where they defeated Morocco to win a bronze medal. This remarkable finish not only earned Ghana a podium spot but also a coveted ticket to the Youth Olympics.

Earlier in the year, Amoafo and Tettey had already made waves at the CAVB Zone 3 Nations Beach Volleyball Championship in Abidjan, where their impressive run booked Ghana’s place at the upcoming U18 World Championship in Qatar.

The Ghana Volleyball Association (GVA) has applauded the exceptional work of the coaching trio—Evans Lomotey, Seidu Ajanako, and Eden Chapnour—whose dedication and expertise have been instrumental in the team’s progress on the continental stage.

Speaking on behalf of the Beach Volleyball Commission, Mohammed Aputeog expressed pride in the boys’ achievements and made an earnest appeal for support:

“Justice and Daniel have shown what’s possible with talent, hard work, and the right guidance. But to take the next step and represent Ghana on the world stage, they need more than just skill—they need support. We are calling on corporate sponsors, institutions, and individuals to partner with us and help these young athletes prepare adequately for Dakar and Doha. Ghana has a golden opportunity here, and we must not let it slip.”

With preparations now underway for both global events, the spotlight turns to whether the necessary resources and sponsorship will be secured to help these promising athletes shine on the world stage.
